CHANGING THE GAME

During Super Bowl LIII, sports’ biggest stage, Microsoft used the occasion to talk about a different kind of game. We told the inspirational story of our hero gamer, Owen, from our Microsoft holiday spot, along with the stories of other young gamers empowered by the Xbox Adaptive Controller. We collaborated with Owen to create a series of “instructional” tutorials on his YouTube channel for the next generation of gamers, and made to the top page of Reddit—here and here. From there, we organized a gaming tournament on Rocket League for all the kids. The experience of playing video games is now accessible to everyone, and that in itself is a great thing for our world.
